Rain, Rain, Go Away!

You know that field behind my house that
should show the beginnings of something that looks like this?

This was my view yesterday, before the last round of heavy rains came through in the night. Not exactly the beach, is it? Just walking out into my yard was like walking on a wet sponge. My husband and all the neighbors actually were mowing last night. They are very picky about their yards in our neighborhood and when one person mows, they all mow. We had a brief couple hours of sunshine late yesterday afternoon and the mowers were going crazy. My husband said he had never attempted to mow anything so wet, but since more rain is on the way...he took the only chance he though he had. We are very lucky that we have no flooding in our neighborhood...just a lot of ugly! The flowers just don't want to bloom without sunshine!

You know, everywhere I visit in Blogland, I see the same thing — unusual weather. The images I see on TV are heartbreaking to say the least. I'm so glad your flooding was not worse and I hope it stays that way!!!!

Love the lawn competition, lol. Men are so funny. Reminded me of a t-shirt I once saw, it said, "I fought the lawn and the lawn won."

Hugs

What a shame. I hope things clear soon and the sun stays out more.

OH, Sue! I'm sorry you have such a mess. We need that rain here SO much. We are dry as a bone, and my yard looks bad. It threatens to rain and then doesn't. Then we will get a foot in a day! ;-)

XO,

Sheila :-)

Sue, I feel your pain. I looked outside this morning and I swear fish could swim in the lawn. It has rained the last two days and is expected to rain all week. Hubby planted 3 boxwoods yesterday BETWEEN showers and he was standing in water doing it. (He is much more determined than I!) Meanwhile, my lovely flowers are sitting here waiting to be planted and I'm anxious to dig in the dirt! Soon, very soon I'm sure. But the leaves are starting to show and this time of year is always exciting as I wonder where the squirrels have moved my bulbs this year. Their design criteria and mine are not the same! But a few nice surprises are popping up. Here's to sunshine!!!

"RAIN RAIN GO AWAY
GO TO bj's AND STAY STAY STAY."

Our poor part of Texas is burning to the ground and the grounds burning, too. High winds don't help.
My daughter in law just lost all the fences on her property....just burned them right up. No buildings there, tho, thank goodness.

Reading your comments...it's amazing how it is so dry in some places and so wet in others. I hear we are supposed to have sun on Friday, finally!

Jane

What a shame we can distribute all this moisture where it is needed most... I don't know what to expect here. At the moment everything is perfect BUT we all know how quickly that can change... I hope the weather "EVENS OUT" soon!
Hugs to you,
Donna

Weeds have popped up everywhere around here with all the rain, and it is to wet to mow. Sun is trying to come out now after 3 days of constant storms - severe storms. The problem now will be the flooding in many places. :(

Same here...all rain with lots of flooding. I did a post the other day with the same title as yours. When an hour of sunshine appears, we all run outside to enjoy it as it will start pouring again any minute. Wishing you some dry time!
