Fall Lunch With Friends-Tablescape Thursday

Sometimes it is nice to make the time for a relaxing late lunch. The inspiration for my tablesetting was another scarf of my mother's. My sister had a really great idea when she suggested I bring them home for tablescaping. Once again, it proves that thinking outside of the box can make for an interesting table. The menu would be sandwiches, salad and wine...perfect, don't you think?

The wine is sitting on a pottery trivet
that we brought back from a Michigan trip.

Casual cream placemats were topped with dark green plates
(Wal-Mart) and salad plates from Pier 1. Gold napkins
and rust handled flatware (from one of my kid's college days)
along with thrift shop green stemware create the place setting.

The centerpiece is simple twig pumpkins
and a few wine corks from favorite wineries.

See the wine bottles and wine labels on the scarf?

The salad bowl is from Southern Living at Home.

A pair of Lenox crystal candlesticks to add a little elegance.

We can't forget the wine, from an area winery!

Time to light the candles.
We will just assume it was a really late lunch!

I am linking today with Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch

you must go see her wonderful blog!

Hi Sue!
Just resting a bit tonight... we had a long week and it's only Wed. {My old dog Muffin died last night} So, I'm visiting friends quietly out here and it feels good to read and see things that make me smile ~
Your scarf idea is so great. I just found a Paris scarf the other day... it was at the bottom of a purse! I'm soooo using it like you did this weekend.
I also visited your last post. Those rainbows in the photos at the end of your post are called "sun dogs."
Aren't they so incredible!
I also love your new blog background ~ "falling" for it ♥
Hope you've been well~

The scarf is such a great idea. I don't know why I've never considered this before. Since I have lots of them you've given me lots of inspiration!

Hi Sue,
Hope you have recooped from your big project.
It is such a good feeling to do something like that, but I find it wears me out more than it used to unfortunately. And when you are dealing with anything with glitter or plastic snow, oh,
my goodness......you think you will never get rid of either!! lol
Love those beautiful salad plates, they are gorgeous!! Made for a lovely fall luncheon table. Very nicely coordinated.

I am happy that my Thanksgiving menu is all planned and most of the shopping done, tablescape pretty much figured out, still working on the centerpiece. Will finish that hopefully today or Friday, then next week I can just deal with cooking, and setting the table. I love to make as many things the day before as possible, and then just pop those babies in the oven!! lol
I love to spend as lil time in the kitchen on holidays as possible!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, and Blessings Galore,
Nellie

What a wonderful idea to use your mother's scarves. It looks like it was born to be paired with that pretty bowl. This looks so inviting. I like the scattering of corks too.

Me again.:) My daughter was telling me today, how my new granddaughter does not like her car seat when awake. I told her about your grandson unbuckling his seat belt and opening the door. That daughter is the one who pulled a few tricks when she was little!!:( So I remind her to watch the kids like a hawk, in case they inherited some of her traits. :D
Enjoy your evening.
