Gold, Crystal and Vintage Bling

Most of the time when I set a table, it is a bit fun and funky. I do however, like to get a little formal now and then. My tablescape today was inspired by the table runner, which was a gift from my dad for Christmas. You will see that not only is it beautiful...it has lights inside of it, how cool is that?

The runner is gold and cream, a perfect match for my mother's china pattern. Her beautiful Castleton China Carlton pattern is one of my treasures. My grandmother had the same pattern, so there were enough place settings for my sister and I to both have a full set.

I pulled out the my gold Farberware flatware
and gold napkins to complete the theme.

You may be noticing my "napkin rings". My mother-in-law's vintage brooches add a little touch of whimsy and sparkle to the table. I actually wear them all the time on my jean jackets and coats. The vintage necklaces were my grandmother's.

The stemware is Waterford Crystal. The centerpiece is the matching Waterford ice bucket. These pieces were given to my husband for his 35th anniversary at his job last year.

The crystal candlesticks are garage sale finds and the rose bowls are antique cut glass. I put a crystal votive in each one.

I love white flowers, they are so simple and elegant.

The table runner in the daytime is pretty...at night, it is wonderful!

I did learn a valuable lesson with this tablescape. Zoe (the puppy) was very attracted to the tassel on the table runner. I caughter her just before she grabbed it, which would have pulled the Waterford ice bucket to the hardwood floor. I was very lucky to avoid that disaster.

I am joining Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch
for Tablescape Thursday.

I am also joining Kim @ Savvy Southern Style
for Wow Us Wednesdays

Oh Sue ~ What A Gorgeous Tablescape! Truly Outdid Yourself On This One! And I Have To Tell You, I've Definitely Been Needing Something Beautiful To Set My Sights On And I'm So Pleased To Have Landed Here.

I Want To Thank You Sweet Friend For Your Compassion And Understanding When It Came To Grasping Fully What It Took For Me When Dealing With Packing My Mama's Belongings. Sue, It Was Just As You Defined. I'd Be Going Along Just Fine When I'd Suddenly Come Across Something That Had A Particually Special Meaning, AND WHAM..I'd Sink To The Floor And Weep Like A Child.

It Just Meant A Lot To Me That Someone Really Got Me. Really Understood The Heartwrenching Sorrow I've Been Experiencing. You Are So Right In Saying Until One Walks This Same Path, They Can't Fully Comprehend.

I Immediately Thought Of My Mama When I Opened Your Page. "I Need Mom" Has Never Been Truer For Me. Sending You My Heartfelt Gratitude For Reaching Out To Me. xoxo Terri

Fun and funky is just my style, but you added touches of elegance as well. Love the brooches on the napkins. I have several that never come out of hiding so that may be the perfect use for them.

Hi Sue,
what a stunningly gorgeous table, so elegant. Loved the idea of the pretty broches on the napkins, so pretty, and who would ever think of a table runner that lights up, how cool is that. Your Mother's china is lovely and very elegant.

Got my products from Mindful Minerals, isn't it?? Anyway, have tried the exfoliating bar and the mud mask, and loved them both.

Thanks for sharing this delightful
table, and hope you have a good rest of the week hon,
blessings, Nellie

Beautiful, Sue! And your Dad...Way to go, Dad!!! Wow...he deserves a Really Good Guy Award! I don't know too many Dads who would be able to pick out something like that! Also loving the beautiful brooches! I loved it back in the 80s and early 90s when brooches made a big comeback in fashion. I bought as many as my little paychecks would allow. They are a wonderful tabletop accessory! Your napkins are beautiful, too, by the way, and they go so well with the gorgeous china. Beautiful table! Have a great weekend!
