Pumpkin Pie Snack Mix-Foodie Friday

This is another one of those recipes I jotted down while sitting at the hospital with my niece. I don't know what magazine it came from. If someone knows, I'll add the credit to the recipe. It is an easy, slightly sweet twist on what we call "Party Mix" around here.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 T. pumpkin pie spice
1/4 cup butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups Cinnamon Chex cereal
2 cups Wheat Chex cereal
2 cups Honey Nut Chex cereal (I couldn't find this and used Corn Chex instead)
8 oz. pecans

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Melt the butter and add the vanilla. Mix all three cereals together with nuts, pour butter/vanilla over and sprinkle on sugar/spice mixture. Toss gently. Microwave about 4-5 minutes, spread on cookie sheet to cool.

Note: I have a powerful microwave. I set it for 5 minutes and I had a few burned pieces. I would try 4 minutes but watch it closely. It isn't good burned!

Let's try this again...my brain AND fingers must still be sleeping.....

This looks delicious! I think I 'need' to make this. ;)

All my photos in the blogger dashboard are huge also. I've been trying to work on posting but something is wrong. I try adding a photo and I never the get the little window to add one, it goes blank and just sits there flashing the address it's trying to go to. I thought it was me with the blogger dashboard. I thought maybe someone saw me squinting with my old eyes at the photos yesterday and was helping me out by enlarging them. LOL

I'm off to look at your "My Mom's Apple Cake Recipe" I've been looking for something to make with a bunch of apples I just bought. I think this is it. Thank you :)

Sue, if you scroll to the bottom of those pictures you can still read your feed in the Google reader as normal. I think it is just an update to the dashboard, change always takes awhile to get used to doesn't it. Have a good weekend.

Morning Sue,
Boy, that snack mix sounds great, and easy, love easy recipes!!

Thanks for coming by and for your encouraging
comments, they made my day!!

Somehow I missed all your recent posts. Thought your Halloween table was so adorable.
Love the colors and those orange mosaic candles are beautiful. Very cute ideas there.

Also love your dining room table, it is really pretty, and that is so phenomenal that the heat mark came off like that. What a blessing
from the Lord!! I love the shape of it with the rounded corner, very nice. Your new table runner is really pretty too.

Thought the shrimp harvesting was very interesting, as well as the blue legged shrimp. I love shrimp, we eat them grilled or boiled now, but my dad always used to make me fried shrimp anytime we came to visit, and the were awesome.

Your dad did a great job on your desk too.
Thought the green knobs were perfect, and the book ends are simply adorable.

So glad you had such a fun time with you Dad
while he was there, am sure you hated to see him go.

So yall are checking into retirement as well.
Hubby was really quite surprised as he read the Social Security website, because you hear
a lot of negative things at times, but we found that they are really totally true only partially true and isn't as bad as people make you think it is. Our next thing to check is healthcare Insurance, So if you hear of any reasonable plans please let me know, and I will do the same for you, if you are interested.

So you enjoy the geese, I love geese too.
Altho, we have only had them once, but they were so cute, the waddled thru our yard honking and eating. Loved it!!
Have no clue where they came from, but they
waddled on down the street!! lol

Have a Wonderful Weekend hon,
Nellie
