Miracle In Chile

I find myself unable to think of anything else today, as one by one the trapped miners in Chile are being rescued. I turned the television off last night after the 4th miner was on the surface, but I kept waking up and turning it back on to make sure nothing had gone wrong. As I type this, the 11th miner has been reunited with his family.

I can't imagine what it must have been like for these men. The first 17 days with little food and no idea if they would ever be found, the remaining days in a small space, temperatures like that of a sauna and only their faith to keep them hopeful of a rescue.

There is so much bad news in the world. Seeing so many nations work together to save these men is a miracle in itself. The fact that we have the technology to go a half mile into the earth and bring up these men, another miracle. The rescue workers who unselfishly volunteered to go down into the hole, leaving safety to save others are heroes. There are many more men to bring to the surface. I feel as if the world held their collective breath when they brought up the first miner and won't exhale until the last has climbed out of the capsule. Isn't it wonderful to see something on the news that is positive, hopeful and makes your heart sing?

Hi Sue!

I fell asleep during the first miner's journey was complete. I awoke just as they were wheeling him away on the stretcher.

This morning, I turned the TV on and saw #7 emerge from the mine waving his national flag. It made me cry.

Yes. It is wonderful to see happy news for a change. La

Sue -- I agree with you -- so much bad news and some good news. I live in a mining community that has lost people over the years, just recently too. What a miracle! Joni

You're right. I've been pretty down lately on all the bad I've been hearing--the recent spate of teenage suicides has been a harsh reminder that cruelty and indifference seem to dominate in the world.

Hearing about compassion rather than callousness is nice for a change.

Sue..I too have wept and cheered for everything involved within this rescue. I have prayed so much throughout this entire ordeal, and Heaven so mercifully allowed this awful situation to turn out so wonderfully! Thank you for such a beautiful post. Hugs, Terri

G'day, Sue ~
This truly was God's hand holding safety over these men ... it has been so rewarding to see each come up from the bowels of the earth safely.

Oh I have been watching tv all day and love every minute of seeing all the rescues and the family and miners being reunited. What a blessing and answer to prayer.

Thanks for your gracious comments regarding my kitchen. I really appreciate it. You mentioned that you were looking at countertops. Do you have an island. I couldn't do all my counters, but just the island made such a huge difference. There are so many of the stone yards that have remnants and they are selling them very reasonably. Usually about 1/3 of the normal cost. These pieces are too small to do a big job,but perfect for an island or small counter. It's an option to check out if possible. Hugs, Marty

Amen Sue!!
You are so right, there are only about 4 left to go at this point. My heart has just been leaping for joy. I was crying like a baby when they showed footage of the first man and his 8 yr. old son, just sobbing! I am so glad he was sobbing because his daddy was okay!!
It has been a joy to see, and you are right every one is waiting on baited breathe and I think everyone is praying.........
What a wonderful thing that is!
and you are so right - we needed to see a miracle, and that is exactly what we are seeing, Keep praying till the last man is out!! What a wonderful thing this is, and now
we need to pray that these dear men and their families will be psychologically okay.
I was really amazed at how good they looked,
all shaven and cleaned up looking, and healthy looking as well. Just so Amazing,
so divine!!
Thanks for your prayers for my sister and her family, they are so appreciated.
Love and Blessings, Nellie

Hi Sue!
I've been listening and watching both nights... The engineering involved in the rescue is amazing...
I think the president of Chile and his wife are so honorable to wait and greet each miner...
What dedication ♥
I keep saying "Esperanza is rising"

Have a wonderful night, Sue ~ watching the last come out tonight!
~love,
Maria

Miracles do happen, but we don't always notice them or hear about. In this case, there were a lot of people (the miners and their families)involved in a very dramatic situation which took away the breath of the entire world. The Rescuers and the trapped miners are huge heroes. The Media did a good job showing us the efforts done to save the miners and prevent tragedy. "All's well that ends well".
