September

The breezes taste

Of apple peel.

The air is full

Of smells to feel-

Ripe fruit, old footballs,

Burning brush,

New books, erasers,

Chalk, and such.

The bee, his hive,

Well-honeyed hum,

And Mother cuts

Chrysanthemums.

Like plates washed clean

With suds, the days

Are polished with

A morning haze.

Hi Sue! It's a great poem to start the school year too!
The rose is lovely ... it reminds me of the way my roses look now!

and

I loved your post on the Great River Road! The bird's nest name card holders are so adorable! Your silver chargers are amazing AND the deals you got ~ super !
Hope your week is sweet dear ♥

ps. things are going well here, Dad "officiated" in the making of applesauce muffins ~ He loves his homemade muffins!
The physical therapist comes twice a week... he cooperates like a gentleman, but would really rather do things to his comfort.
School starts next Tuesday. The kids come on Wednesday. I don't know how I'll get out of the house by 7am!
I love staying in my jammies until 8 :o)
Back to setting three alarms LOL

Can you believe that Sept is here? The last few months of the year will just fly by, as usual. Hope we all take the time to enjoy everyday and savor each moment.

Another beautiful post! I have trouble deciding if your blog should be a fabulous magazine, or a series of gorgeous coffee table books...or both!! :)

I must be in a sentimental mood but this poem almost made me cry! We have a chill in the air and the kids are a school and where did the summer go? Joni

Enjoyed the poem and lovely rose photo! Can't wait for some cooler weather and all the Fall festivals coming up. Nothing like some hot apple cider.
