A Message To Live By...Table Top Tuesday

When I was in Michigan in May, just a few days after my mom
died...I saw this plaque and I loved it. Amidst all the sweet,
sad and flowery options, this one made me smile.

I wasn't sure where to put it in my home. I decided I liked
it on this glass and iron shelf that sits just inside my front door.

The shelf was a thrifty find when a local hotel
was selling all of their furnishings a few years
ago. I only paid $15 for it, and I think it
is a perfect place to showcase some
of my favorite beachy things.

A seashell from Key West...

A piece of coral...love the texture!

It fits perfectly under our beachy artwork and
on a wall that is a slightly odd shape.

I'm linking with Marty @ A Stroll Thru Life for Table Top Tuesday.

What a beautiful little beach menagerie...I love how that little plaque spoke to you when you were sad...Loosing Mom is a deep sadness and this will make you smile and think of her... LOVE the quote on that plaque, I have never heard it and it says it all, doesn't it!!! Hugs, Donna

I love all things beach related (except beach fleas. HATE THEM), so I looovve your shelf. And that quote is brilliant. Only people will a good sense of humor would have that in their house! I approve. :)

Like your shelf with all your coral and shells. Love the quote on the sign. I hope that when I go out in a blaze of glory, people will say "She'll be raising heck on the other side,too- look out, people!!"

MORNING SUE,
THANKS FOR COMING BY YESTERDAY AND FOR YOUR ENCOURAGING COMMENTS. YOY ARE SO RIGHT, THEY ARE WORDS TO DO OUR BEST TO LIVE BY AND WE WILL BE WORKING ON THAT TILL WE GO TO HEAVEN, BUT I AM FINDING THE MORE I DO IT THE BETTER LIFE IS!!

LOVED YOUR PLAQUE, I HAVE SEEN THE QUOTE IN EMAILS BEFORE AND ALWAYS THOUGHT IT A VERY NEAT QUOTE, MINUS THE WINE FOR ME, LOL, DON'T LIKE THE TASTE AND HAVE ALCOHOLICS IN MY BACKGROUND.
LIKED ALL YOUR SHELLS TOO! THEY LOOK VERY PRETTY ON YOUR GLASS SHELVES WITH YOUR SEASCAPE ABOVE IT!! SEE YOU HAVE A KEY WEST CONCH SHELL, I AM VERY FAMILIAR WITH THOSE, AS
I GREW UP LIVING SUMMERS IN KEY WEST, THEN MOVED THERE YEAR ROUND FROM 17 TO 19 1/2 YEARS OLD. MY PARENTS WERE DIVORCED SO I USED TO SPEND SUMMERS WITH MY DAD AND STEP MOM AND GRANDPARENTS. ONE SUMMER WE FOUND TONS OF WHAT THEY CALLED HORSE CONCH SHELLS, MUCH BIGGER THAN THE USUAL ONES, SO WHEN IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO GO BACK TO MY MOM, WHICH WAS JUST A FEW DAYS, I PACKED THEM ALL IN A BOX ALONG WITH SOME OTHER THINGS SO MY DAD COULD MAIL THEM.
THEY NEVER GOT MAILED, THE REASON: I WAS ABOUT 8-10 YRS. OLD, AND NO ONE TOLD ME THAT THERE WERE LIL SNAIL LIKE CREATURES THAT LIVED INSIDE CALLED CONCHS WHICH THEY MAKE CONCH FRITTERS AND CONCH CHOWDER OUT OF) SO AFTER A FEW WEEKS THOSE PACKAGES STARTED TO SMELL PRETTY BAD, SO THEY HAD TO THROW THEM OUT!! LOL
POOR THINGS.... QUESS THEY SMOOTHERED TOO DEATH!!
SOMEHOW I MISSED THIS POST, DON'T THINK IT CAME UP ON MY DASHBOARD FOR SOME REASON.
WELL, YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
BLESSINGS, NELLIE

That's a great message. The arrangement is adorable, and you should be mighty proud of your money well spent on the shelf.
