Hopping Down The Bunny Trail...

Easter dinner this year will be casual at our house. My son has to work early in the day, so he will be coming over for dinner. With just 3 of us, I haven't decided if I will cook a traditional Easter meal or if we will simply have something on the grill. I think that will be determined by how much we get done on the bathroom project Friday and Saturday. So, I wanted to set a table that was comfortable and festive. My Dept 56 Snow Bunnies are the focal point, along with a few fresh flowers from the yard.

The dinner plates are Crate and Barrel and the salad plates are plastic (don't tell anyone)! Small Crate and Barrel vases with violets from my yard add a little extra touch. You have seen my HomeGoods fun flatware many times. I used a silver water pitcher that was a wedding present as a "vase" for lilacs, tulips and honeysuckle from our yard. The light blue tablecloth and stemware along with Easter colored napkins with china bunny napkin rings finish the look.

Pretty !! I have no problems with plastic or faux what so ever. :-D No definite plans for Easter dinner here either - still waiting to see who all will be here.

What a cute, fun table! I never would have guessed those plates were plastic! I love the bunny napkin rings! You are so lucky to have blooms outside. I have no hope left for my spring garden.

I'm not sure who will be here for dinner either. I bought a ham and now Hubs and daughter are complaining that we should have something different this year. They are usually the ones who don't want to break tradition!!

I hope your Easter Sunday is very special, my friend!

XO,
Jane

Your bunny collection is precious! I love the color story that is told in your table, and my favorite thing is to think that you grow those violets in your yard. Wow! Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay

Hi Sue,
All your snowbabies are so cute!
Lovely cheery and simple sweet table.
Just right for a casual dinner for 3.
and especially with all the reno you have going on................
Wise to make it simple.
Ours is gonna be simple too, as we have a wedding to go to the evening before, and so glad I did that since I have been sick all week, still on the mend, and hoping tomorrow is a better day...
each day seems to get better but this coughing is just wearing me out, and I keep running a low grade fever off and on.
If I can get over this and get the
house aired out and sprayed with lysol an old friend might come over for the weekend or on Sunday for dinner. The kids are all coming and my sil, but the kids all need to leave by 3-4 o'clock to visit their other families. So it will give us plenty of time to visit with my friend if she gets to come.
Sure don't want anyone else to get sick with this stuff, so hoping hubby does not get it, cause wouldn't wish it on anyone it is no fun!!

Thanks for all your sweet comments about my porch, yea, I am in love with yellow too, always one of my fav colors. In fact, when we were building our home over 30 yrs ago, one of the painters said Mam, you sure do like yellow, and I said yea, I have to say I do............lol

But I haven't used it as much as I used to.......I sort of got into and golds mainly that I use in the Fall, and reds for Christmas and winter, the pinks in the spring and summer. Our bedroom has yellow walls, with greens and blues.
I am laughing I just looked over to my left and then their is my yellow checked futon in the computer room.
Funny how you get so used to stuff you forget about it. Too funny, course, it is the middle of the night, maybe that is it.

Having trouble sleeping cause of the wonderful coughing.......

Well, you have a Very Happy Easter,
and have fun with your son and hubby.
Blessings sweetie,
Nellie

What a wonderful table. I just love the "plastic" salad plates. You sure can't tell from the picture. I just picked up some melamine plates from Target that look like glass and have a rippled texture and even look thick on the edges. It isn't until you pick them up that you can tell. Your bunnies are so cute and I just love the egg plate too. Everything looks perfect and even prettier by candlelight!

Your tablescape is so pretty. I love that you have fresh flowers from the yard, fantastic. Using the grass on the table is such a clever idea and all of your bunnies are beautiful. I think it is a beautiful tablescape.

I had to giggle when you commented that you could shop for me. That is so cool, at least we like the same things. Wish we could really shop together, I am sure it would be a real treat. Hugs, Marty

Beautiful, as usual! Love the whole table...and the flowers are perfect. I love tulips ~ would be heavenly to have them growing here.

We're grilling steaks on Sunday. My son-in-law is fantastic with the grill and that's what we all decided. It's good to be different! :-)

Hope that you and yours have a blessed Easter.
