I don't actually do much decorating for Valentine's Day. I may add little touches of red here and there, but I don't have actual decorations anymore. Some of my favorite things to use are old sheet music, postcards and photographs. I finally took time over the weekend to go through a box of sheet music and postcards that my father-in-law gave me before he died. I pulled out several that I can't wait to use. I'm not sure what I will do with the ones I'm not going to use. Some may end up on Ebay and I do plan to do a giveaway including several vintage items soon. (Anyone have any other suggestions)? I used some "love themed" music on the top of my china cabinet, along with the beautiful vase my daughter gave me for my birthday and a few birds. A pop of ribbon ties it all in together.
I put away most of my winter things and pulled out several birds for around the house. It just doesn't feel much like winter this year (it is in the 60's today) and I love that! I'm sure we will get a dose of snow soon, but the birds seemed to go better with what was going on outside.
I loved this sweet old postcard.
As always, working with my round table can
be a challenge. Lots of white, hints of Valentine red
and birds create a slightly romantic look for the holiday.

This is such a subtle but beautiful way to celebrate Valentine's Day Sue.
Very sweet and using your old sheet music and postcards along with your photographs is just so very charming! It's a soft look and special look, love it.
I love your Valentine's Day touches, Sue. I don't decorate much for it either, not since the kids were little. I think all I have is a wreath!!
Isn't this weather amazing?! It's 54 right now and I have a few windows open. Where is the snow??

Sweet tidbits of love, LOVES IT! winks, jen
Such lovely vignettes. Everything is so pretty, however of course anything with a cloche and it just makes me drool. Thanks tons for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
Shakespeare wrote in Twelfth Night, "If music be the food of love, play on." You absolutely got that right displaying the valentines and sheet music. And you had me with the birds. Lovely. Have a great week. ~CJ
Sue,

Love that you have used the old sheet music. Sometimes the best decorations for Holidays aren't really decorations at all...they are just repurposed special items! xo Diana
Cute! I love that vase :)
I have very few things to use for Valentine's Day. I seldom really decorate for holidays except Christmas and a tiny bit at Halloween. I have some olden letters, tied with red ribbon that I always display and I put out small bowls of candy. If I am lucky, maybe I will get a little pot of flowers to sit beside my letters. :) (not red roses...not a favorite of mine unless they are from the garden)Mr. Sweet is very sweet regarding flowers at this romantic time of year. :))
It looks lovely, Sue, just the right touches. I just have a few Valentine decos around.
I am loving the lack of snow and cold, and so is my wallet due to the use of less heat!
