A Little Bit of Winter Sparkle

I'm not actually working on any major projects this time of year. I think many of us are just trying to keep up and get things done in time for the holiday. Any little "tweeks" I'm doing are simply taking down one season and putting up the next. Our house doesn't have a fireplace...therefore no mantel. We've had fireplaces in our homes since the late 70's, so we not only miss the cozy fire, I miss the mantel to decorate. I tend to use the top of my china cabinet and my library tables to display seasonal things.

Hand-carved wooden trees from a little shop in Nashville, TN.

A Crate and Barrel moose that my
husband just "had to have" a few years ago.

Surprise! What I thought were white lights on
the little brush trees...aren't!

A silly little snow angel.

A sparkly sea urchin.

A snowy white church.

Much loved Christmas stories.

All tucked among fresh greens.
Welcome to my Winter Wonderland!

  2. I have those sparkly trees and wreaths, too, and I love them! The carved wood trees are wonderful, too! It's funny how all the decorations are tied to memories, isn't it?

    Hugs and Happy Monday!

  6. All very lovely...it is tough to get used to a home without mantels. I remember that well, though I never had any cozy fires as the fireplaces had been bricked up.

You've done a wonderful job with your Christmas treasures. I like the moose!

  7. Hi Sue
Love all of your decorations. I really love the crystal wreath in fact I have one and you just reminded me that I have to figure out where I stored it. I also love the moose. I am in Crate and Barrel often wish I had seen it because I would have definately left the store with it.

  13. Hi Sue!
I LOVE IT how your husband "had to have" the moose...
Chris' "has to have" is the poinsettia garland that has a string of star-lights he added ~ this garland is strung over the archway to our sunroom... It's the one decoration he has to have :o)
I thought of you on Sunday as I put up our tree-topper angel with the big silver and gold bow ... I love the way she looks ~ Thank you again Sue for the great idea!
Wishing you joy and peace during this very special season ♥

  14. Oh, I'm with your hubs- I like that ginormous moose! He looks good up there with all your trees. You have some nice glitz going on at your sofa table vignette, too. Love the sparkly sea urchin- now that is a first for me to see. :-)
