Tiny Tabletop Tea

A few years ago, I taught etiquette classes for children. I was thrilled when I found this darling child's tea set to use for my class. It is Edelstein Bavaria (Made in Germany) and I found it on Ebay. I set the "table" on an antique washstand, using a vintage cloth, a silver tray that was my mother's and a Lizzie High Doll celebrating her birthday.

Many years ago, I had a gift shop. One of the perks was to be able to buy things for myself at market. I had forgotten about this picture, until I stumbled upon it a few weeks ago. Each of the four sections is hand painted and represents a season of the year...in tea. It hung in my home for several years, but I think I'd prefer it now without the gold frame. What do you think?

Sue,
I love the way the small prints flow over to the surrounding mat board! What lovely details! You know that I'm always up for tea time- what a great set you have!

That whole set & especially that vintage cloth are BEAUTIFUL, Sue!! I'm green with envy!

Why not try painting your frame if you're not happy with it? You can always go back, ya' know. I've sprayed more things with 24 karet gold spray paint in my life than.....well, lets just say LOTS!

Thanks for your sweet words on all the sewing on my blog. Seems to be the current focus. I've almost run out of dishes to show off. Notice, I said "almost" LOL

An adorable tea set. I have one granddaughter that loves tea sets. I've given her quite a few over the years...I need to take a photo shot of her and her teapots...:)

I went to market once, a loooong time ago, with a friend and never had so much fun!! Loved it.

Your tiny tea party, with the sweetest doll, is so pretty. Love it.

I love the tea set! I used to have tea parties all the time when I was small. I so wish my mother/step-dad had kept those things for me.

Your print is very nice, Sue. I would change the frame and then hang it again in your house.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

That tea set is so totally adorable Sue! What a sweet table you have created!
I love the framed tea prints too and think that painting it another color would be a good idea. Maybe spray paint it cottage white? Just a thought.
Have a great week friend,
Cindy

What a pretty tiny tea! ANd your picture is a treasure. I agree with Rett, paint the frame amd glaze it to show the detail.
I love the pumpkin scene. But maybe it's because I am in the mood for fall!
