She Sells Seashells...Tablescape Thursday

I think by now everyone knows how much I love anything to do with the beach. I'm definately a water baby who is landlocked in Illinois. I have always felt most at peace when I'm surrounded by waves, water and seashells. I tried to create that feeling with my tablescape.

I started with a soft blue tablecloth (Macy's) to give the feeling of the water. The china is called Captiva and I bought it at Bed, Bath and Beyond in Florida several years ago. I paired it with Rogers Bros. Enchanted Rose flatware (Ebay).

I used creamy napkins with lucite shell napkin rings. The napkin rings belonged to my mom, as did the seashell salt dips. You will notice that some of the pictures have wine and water glasses, some have just wine glasses. I took the first pictures and realized if I had a pitcher on the table, I needed to add water glasses. The pink wine glasses were one of my husband's garage sale finds. The teal etched water glasses were a going away present when we moved 7 years ago.

For the centerpiece, I used an aqua charger as the base. The seashell vase was a recent HomeGoods purchase and is filled with tiny pink roses and white blooms from my yard. The candle we bought in Michigan a few years ago...in a moment you will see why it is so special.

Our fun Fitz & Floyd pitcher and bowl were gifts many years ago when we housed a Miss Florida queen in our home for a week. They usually live on the top of my kitchen cabinets.

See what happens when I light the candle?

I am joining Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. This is my favorite blogging event and I would love it if you would visit her this week to see all the beautiful table settings.

AWESOME!!! Especially the lit candle effects!

Captiva Island has been a favorite of ours for years, so your plates are very endearing. You have such a wonderful collection of sea scape items, Sue. I'm with you...give me the beach over mountains every/any day!!!!

The shell napkin rings bring a sparkle` are they lucite?
I love the table by tea light! It just makes all your dishes and shells look luminess.
So sorry that you are so far away from the water you love. But you brought the beach to you!

I love it Sue, beautiful and just up my alley. When I saw your title it immediately took me back to our recent Fort Myers vacation. I don't remember whether it was on Sanibel or Captiva Island, but there was this little shop called She Sells Seashells. The name just stuck in my head for hours....and now it's back:)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm delighted to meet another Sister, especially since I never had one of the flesh and blood variety. I'm learning what it's like to have a sister from my Blog Sister, and it's Great.

That looks great! I love the beach theme, and the pitcher is great!
We babysat yesterday for our 4 too, so today we have to recover! I had 30 in a classroom that didn't wear me out as much as these little ones do! :)

This is one of my favorites from you. The colors of the beach are so soothing for me and I love sea shell anything. Those sand dollar pillows you just posted about are so pretty too. They would look great on our new sand dollar sheets- http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/44638?page=sand-dollar-percale-sheet-set&parentCategory=504696&cat4=1156&shop_method=pp&feat=1156-sub2&np=Y
