It has been a while since I've posted. We had a wonderful Christmas in Florida, my daughter had 6 days off from work so we got to spend lots of time together. We got home and my dad was here for several days and the past few days have been just trying to get back to some kind of normal around here. I have several posts to share with you, but I really wanted my first post of 2013 to be "different" and this one certainly is!
One of the best things about having a Disney daughter is that she is always showing us parts of Disney that we don't know about. We were aware of Fort Wilderness, but since camping isn't something I do...we had never been to the campground. The girls arranged for us to have a golf cart and on Christmas Eve, the four of us (with me driving) took the golf cart for a spin around the huge campground at Walt Disney World. My first reaction (after I discovered I would be driving the cart on real roads with cars and buses) was, "I would never stay here"! After we spent a couple of hours driving around, visiting with the campers who were so friendly and seeing the decorations which were beyond extreme...I did have an attitude adjustment. I still don't think I'm a camper, but this environment of people saying "Merry Christmas", kids running up to us, amazing food smells and a general atmosphere of joy and family...well, I certainly wasn't in any hurry to leave. The pictures speak for themselves. We had such a great time that I'm sure this will be a Christmas Eve tradition from now on.
I hope you all had a very happy holiday season!
Aww! Bet you had a fun time. Thanks for sharing - looking forwarding to seeing more pics and hearing more about your trip.
ReplyDeleteAre those all decorations Disney World puts out, or part put out by campers?
Sue- There is NOTHING like Disney at Christmas is there? What a fun new tradition you have started there-xoDiana
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had such a great time with your daughter. That golf cart expedition looks like it was such fun
No lack of Christmas spirit there that is for sure. Disney never spares any details that is for sure.
Have missed you but knew where you were, so nice you got to spend so much time with your daughter hon.
and welcome back, can't wait to see the rest of what has gone on.......
Blessings, Nellie
Oh, that does look like fun! I love the jacked up Chevy!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Awww, that looks like so much fun, Sue!
ReplyDeleteThis just blows me away. I am totally amazed. Unreal for sure. I love it. We use to have a motorhome, but never camped at Christmas and not like this. How fun.. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI really needed some Disney magic in my day. Love your posts, but this one is making me grin and laugh. And I appreciate it....you cannot imagine how much I needed to giggle this morning!

ReplyDeleteHi, Suz...well, good grief, how awesome is this. I've never seen anything like it. I absolutely LOVE camping in a nice little camper. We had a darling one but it was very old and waaay too heavy to pull with our SUV...so we sold it a couple years back. Now we are looking for another one...
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had such a good time. Hope you had lots of time with your dad.
hugs, bj
