Beach and Brown

Today is the day Marty @ A Stroll Thru Life hosts Table Top Tuesday.
I'm about to run out of tables to show you around here!

The library table behind my loveseat has to have at least one "beachy" item, so I added a pottery vase from an art show in Florida to a vintage vase that was my mother's. The iron piece you see often and was purchased in Charleston, SC.

The large vase is a recent purchase at an area florist.
I just fell in love with the texture of it when I saw it.

My dining table is looking a bit bare today. I actually had a cream runner with a shell on each end, but my vase of Iris dripped and created a water-colored mess of blues and purples on it. I have it in the washer now and I don't know if I can save it. Who knew they would do that? I actually like the look of bare wood for a change, but I'm sure I'll add something in the next few days.

Don't forget I have a great GIVEAWAY going on right now!
You can win a Boos Block of your very own.

Please stop by to say hello to Marty!

  4. I love the raised flower petals on the brown vase, Sue. They are so textural and go so well with the light blue ones. I sure hope your runner comes out clean for ya, Did you try some color run? It works pretty well. You may also want to try a scoop of Oxy Clean with the same amount of Biz to a gallon of HOT water. Soak the piece overnight. This is the formula I use when I want to clean vintage linens I buy at yard sales. Even those awful yellow spots come out! I've soaked up to 48 hours without any harmful results. Then I just launder normally. This recipe came from the Colorado Lady. Hope all is well w/you. I am trying to visit a few peeps- I've had such little time. Just wanted to let ya know I'm still alive and well. LOL

  8. I always enjoy seeing your touches of the beach.
Sorry - no help on the stain. I do know if you get lilies to pull the stamens out as they fall and stain also.
    Enjoy your evening.

  9. Hi Sue! How are things going for your family?
I'm glad you are making time for the sweet and simple things in life. Blogging helps us to see them!

Your soft creamy whites and sea shells are very calming. The dish of shells must be such a conversation piece. Everyone must want to hold them.
I hope you are having a lovely spring. Blessings to you always,
    Maria
