It starts with a red tablecloth that I've had for years.
Silver chargers topped with bright red dinner plates (Crate and Barrel) and new appetizer plates that were a gift from a good friend for my birthday. You will see the matching serving piece on this table too. They are Food Network dishes and I love them! The flatware is almost peppermint looking and was a bargain at Ross last month for less than $10.
I pulled out a few green and red leaves and berries to create the centerpiece.
See how each plate has a different piece of candy on it? Layered napkins in red and green with snowflake napkin rings (a gift last Christmas from sweet Gloria @ Happy to Be) finish the look.
I found these silly glasses in my Christmas things when I was organizing them a few weeks ago. I have no idea when I got them or where they came from. I didn't even remember having them! I thought they added a little whimsy to the table and you all know that I like whimsy!
The salt and pepper shakers were an after Christmas purchase from Harry and David and almost look like ornaments. I hope no one tries to eat the peppermint candles!
I used an antique cut glass compote filled with red and green ornaments with vintage and new crystal candlesticks topped with more ornaments for the center of the table. Crystal votives with red candles add a little sparkle as the lights go down.
The matching "candy" plate is darling isn't it?
The recipe for the cookies will be my Foodie Friday post.
I think you get the best look at the centerpiece from above.
