Christmas Tea...Table Top Tuesday

It is near zero in Illinois today, the perfect weather for a steaming cup of tea with friends. The inspiration for my table was a tablecloth and napkin set that I found when I cleaned out my mom's things this summer. It still had the tags on it and all it said was "hand-embroidered". I have no idea where she got it, but it had to come home with me! It is a smaller cloth, so I opted to use it on my coffee table today.

As you can see, it is gorgeous. There are bells and bows embroidered all around the center of the cloth.

For plates, I used Crate and Barrel white with a red "ruffle" as a background for new ornament plates that I found at a Tuesday Morning store in Florida. Each plate is different.

I turned this one the opposite direction because it looked so much like a Christmas tree.

Silver-plate spoons are the only flatware on the table.
You've seen this pattern (Enchanted Rose) many times.

This is my favorite of the plates!

The cups are Sango Silent Night.  I'm showing you the saucers,
but there wasn't room on the table for them.

This precious teapot was arrived in a Christmas Giveaway
from Gloria @ Happy To Be last year. I couldn't
wait to get it out and use it!

The cookies are called Snowballs. They are so easy to make...
2 ingredients (Vanilla Oreos and Cream Cheese)
and whatever you want to dip/roll them in.

I almost forgot to show you the napkins!

One of these days the twins and I are going to invite ourselves down there for a tea or garden party. Our friends just don't get it, lol!

  7. That is one pretty tablecloth to set off your dishes, Sue. Those ornament plates are so darn cute, but those C and B plates with the ruffle detail are so pretty! You are experiencing colder weather than us in OH right now, but I'm sure we'll get your cold weather soon. I want a dusting of snow for Christmas, but the white stuff can stay away for a little longer! Hope you're enjoying the holidays! hugs, Sue

I'm at mom's today and she has great interent access allowing me to both see and read! Your cloches are just stunning! It looks like the blizzard really allowed you to soak in some precious family time with both the grandsons and your son! They are such handsome boys!
I love your holiday tablescape! Hope you are thawing out... we are about to be hit again tonight! stay warm....

  17. Well now honey, you done your momma proud by incorporating her sweet tablecloth into your festive tablescape today. I love it all and I'm wondering if the Tuesday Morning less than a mile away might just still have some of those plates hanging around, they are so cute!

Lovely as always and I could sure go for some hot tea myself right now. We are slowly starting to warm up a bit and I know it will be all better before you get here! (Positive thinking, I'm going with the positive thinking method today.)
