12 Months of Tablescaping-I Could Have My Own Calendar!

A blog that I read yesterday made reference to the fact that bloggers don't always think in a straight line. We tend to have a thought or a plan, which sends us off to another topic and eventually we get to something we want to write about, redo, create or discuss. The thought process for today's post came about just that way. I usually do my tablescapes on Wednesdays, but yesterday I had a migraine and I just couldn't do it. This morning, I was trying to decide if I wanted to skip a week or put together what I had planned to do. I was in the shower and my thought process was something like this.

Maybe I'll just skip a week.

I don't want to do that.

I've been doing this for a year and I haven't missed many weeks.

A year? I've done 12 months of tablescapes?

I could do a calendar!

What would I put on it for each month?

Bingo! Blog post!

This is the first time I've gone back through my tablescapes. I didn't realize how much they reflect what is going on in my life at the time. I also didn't realize how bad my first tablescape was, I was pretty proud of it at the time! It didn't make the cut for today's post.

I'm joining Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.
Please stop by to see her and all the wonderful table settings that are posted today.

  15. Every table is lovely!
What a great idea; you could host a one-time blog party -- "Show Off a Year Of Tablescapes!"

After my own Mom passed away in January '10, I also used some of her funeral flowers in a tablescape. As you said, it's what's going on in our lives at the moment.

Today -- I ran out of time and re-cycled old pictures with new words!

Love the idea of a calendar, though.

  27. What a beautiful post. I loved going through the year with you. Congratulations, that is quite an accomplishment. I am only 1/3 of the way there!!! I loved the Sept. table. What a fun calendar that would make. We do one each year for each of our kids and now their kids because they would complain when they didn't see their picture on a page. Do one for yourself. What a treasure as the years go by.

  31. Sometimes its good to reminisce and reflect. Your family members may like a copy of your calendar if you decide to create one with your tablescapes since they are reminiscent of what was going on in your life.

Thanks for sharing your past tablescapes, I had not seen them all, and I enjoyed them.

    All the Best,

    Requi

  33. Your comment about your first tablescape made me think of some advice that I received when I learned to needlepoint. "Always keep your first completed needlepoint project. It will give you a good map of how much you've improved over the years." Thank you for sharing your calendar of tablescapes. Cherry Kay
