Rest In Peace

My mom passed away early this morning. I am very sad, but I also know that my mom is now in a better place, where there is no pain and she can walk and speak again. Just moments before she had the massive stroke in April, she said to me, "I want you to know that I've had a very good life"! Those were almost her last words to me. She gave me a gift, one I could share with my dad, my sister and her 6 grandchildren who love her so much. We were truly blessed to have this wonderful woman at the heart of our family. We will miss her forever, but we will carry on because it is what she would want for all of us. Thank you for all of the prayers, comments, emails and kind words over the past few weeks. I am truly blessed to have found such a community of wonderful people.

  16. Dear Sue,
There is a peace ... a special peace...

"And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful."

Your mother has perfect peace now, Sue ~ she has entered fully into the Kingdom ~

Your mother is so deeply loved ~ this light, love and joy will live on in everyone she's touched ♥
Our hearts and thoughts are with you and your family,
    Love, Maria

  19. Sue, I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and your entire family. There is such a void when we lose our mothers but honestly, they are in a much better place and there is no pain. My mother was ill for so long and it was so difficult to watch.

I hope that you will feel free to ask for support if you need it. I'm here! I know there are many others that are too. Rest in the comfort of knowing she is at peace and surrounded by God's love. He will bring you peace beyond all understanding...I promise!

    xoxo

    Dear sweet Sue,
I hope all of the love expressed in these comments wraps around you like a warm blanket, comforting and supporting you. Your mom's legacy is your family. The best of her will continue to live in you, her believed grandchildren and especially those two precious great grandsons. I, too, was blessed to have a few last words with my dad before he slipped away in January. He couldn't speak, but he could smile and give me the A-OK sign. In the days to come, as the family gathers, please allow yourself to laugh at your grandchildren and nieces and nephews, to talk to your siblings about things unrelated to your mother and to enjoy a few meals. Don't feel guilty if every thought isn't about your mother. Right now, I know it hurts. With time, the pain will be replaced with happier memories. (Or so I've been told. It's still very fresh for me.) I do think everyone grieves in their own way, so please do what you need to do. If you want to see a counselor, that's fine. If you don't want to visit the grave, that's fine. My sister was worried that she didn't cry enough at Dad's funeral. She'd cried three straight days at the hospital. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this is a new experience for you. You may not act like everyone else and that's fine. I care very much about you and if you need to talk, you know where I am. I'll be praying for your family, and for safe travels in the days ahead. I am glad your mother's pain is over. When grief begins to take over, I hope you are comforted by all of the wonderful (intangible) gifts you've inherited from your mom and just the simple blessing we both were given when we were born to such wonderful parents.

  30. Sue, I am sorry it was your mother's time to leave her earthly existence because I know your father , you and your family will surely miss her presence. Always feel peace that your Mom knew how loved she was by her family. Even though I do not know you or your family personally you did convey to your readers the love present in your family. God bless you all in this time of sadness. Joan
