My place settings today are a mix of old and new. The placemats and napkins with the bright orange gerbera daisy are from Macy's. The silverplate flatware is an Ebay purchase, W.M. Rogers-Enchanted Rose. The water goblets were a thrift store purchase. The dark green dinner plates are from WalMart. The salad plates were my souvenir from the Epcot Flower and Garden Show this year. Each year the plates are different and I really loved the soft colors.
I love it when the plates are all different...don't you?
I usually like flatware that is less ornate, but blogging
seems to be changing my opinion on some things!
Of course the napkins decided on the flowers for the table. I
had to use gerbera daisies. I added one of my little Hummel
figurines..."Little Gardener" to carry out the floral theme.
The rose bowl that holds the daisies is antique cut glass and the candlesticks are vintage.
I'm finding it a little distracting using the glass topped table. The ironwork seems to be jumping out in every picture. Any suggestions other than switch back to my other table?

Looks very pretty, Sue! I can't give any advice about the table though. I only have glass outside.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
Yep, simplicity is beauty, Sue. Love your table and I like different patterns on plates too....Christine
ReplyDeleteI love those plates Sue! You don't wanna use a tablecloth? What about a floor length one!?! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteWhat about that spray Glass frost? It's a temporary spray that I think they sell in the paint dept.ooorrr...
Have hubby cut a wooden top the same diameter and paint it black ooorrrr...that window film stuff...ok, that's all I've got.
Beautiful tablescape, either way!
Michelle
I love the simplicity, and the colorful flowers really adds some sunshine to your table.
ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous table Sue and I think you did a good job with the pics! I love your little centerpiece!

Hi Sue!
ReplyDeletetable cloth!!! you can coordinate with your settings.. actually have you tried taking a photo from under the table??? not to shoot the plates.. but the glassware.. could be interesting.. [strange thoughts i know]
well I can spring is spring up around you... have a lovely week and enjoy your spring!!! xxx Julie
Sue, beautiful tablescape. I do like mismatched placesettings. Love those napkins and plates.
ReplyDeleteMorning, Sue!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with your cute bird plates! How neat that they have a set each year. That's a fun thing to collect! And I like that punch of color with your cute napkins, too.
It's funny because every time I go in WalMart of late, I am tempted to buy plates. It seems that they have gotten a cuter line of home goods. Your plates are a case in point. Love the color of those, too!
Sending you warm hugs...
XO,
Sheila :-)
P.S. And I love your other finds, too (pretty flatware and goblets)... eBay is one of my favorite go-to places to shop! And I've been hitting GW regularly since everyone has been showing their neat finds from there. FUN! :-)
ReplyDeletePretty plates - I like the soft colors. Dropping by from BNOTP.

I love the plates. I need new ones too...got new bowls from Crate and Barrel a couple months ago, but cheaped out before I bought the plates.
ReplyDeleteI guess I need to check out ebay.
Sue,
ReplyDeleteI like the look of your new table. The only thing I could think of to change it up would be to add a tablecloth. But I personally like the glass look.
Your napkins are so bright and cheery and your Epcot plates are for sure to be treasured!
Have a wonderful mother's day....

Sue, those salad plates are just so pretty with the different shades of green. Thanks for sharing another beautiful table.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Sue! I really like those salad plates.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

Looks beautiful...as usual! I love, love the napkins. The green plates are really nice and white candles & crystal always look elegant to me. My only suggestion would be trying a tablecloth at times if you want a change...or the round wood topper that someone mentioned.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
xoxo

Very calm, serene table scene, Sue. Much needed, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI say just put more STUFF on the table...then you won't notice the iron base! LOL That's my solution. Actually, I struggle with the same issue. *sigh*
Yes, I love when the designs are different on each plate and these are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHmmm…I love glass-topped tables and would hate to cover the glass with a tablecloth, but for this tablescape the ironwork does take away from the serenity. Maybe instead of the centerpiece on top, you could put the pot of flowers in that hole underneath to soften the look.
Some times pretty things speak for themselves. I adore those souvenir plates....they are wonderful. I need to get some more ornate silverware for my tablescapes...blogging has shown me how pretty it can be.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty table! and very colorful daisies, too. I, too, love the slightly different plates.
