I am a rock and roll girl. I tend to listen to the "new" stuff. Justin Timberlake, The Fray, Black-Eyed Peas, Pink to name a few. I don't act my age at all when it comes to music. I love to go to concerts to see the musicians of my youth. The Eric Clapton commercial makes me smile, I still love Paul McCartney and I loved recent concerts of REO Speedwagon, America and Kansas.
Once in a while, something will come along that is completely out of my normal musical interest. The other day I happened to catch a group, The Canadian Tenors, on Oprah. They only sang one song...but, the harmony was outstanding. I was touched and I immediately downloaded their album. I finally had a chance to listen to it this morning. All I can say is that I kept turning up the volume and I just let their perfect voices fill my home. It is the perfect music for a Valentine weekend. I hope you will take a moment and listen to a few of my favorites from the album. If you go to their webpage you can download Always There for free. Click on the links below.

I saw that show too (well, I watch EVERY show), and they were something!
ReplyDeleteSue! I just left a comment to your comment on my blog that I'm coming to get you in May to take you on a roadtrip to the California Strawberry Festival. I can already see we won't be fighting over what music to play. I love everyone you mentioned (wasn't Pink incredible on the Grammies?) and this tenor group is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteBack your bags, honey!
I love them!! I really like almost all music and really love the old stuff. I did think The Who was a terrible disappointment at half time during the Super Bowl. Going to check out the link--Thanks! Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to go check it out.
ReplyDeleteSue,
ReplyDeleteI'll have to go and check them out! I love all types of music, one would probably think 15 different people put their music on my Ipod!

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteWell I find my taste in music changes all the time.. strangely.. i don't seem to listen to music much lately.. will have to correct that situation.. have a great weekend.. xx Julie
Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteThanks for review, I will check them out. I love all kinds of music too, just not much rap. I am a rock n roll girl, hubby is more country! My favorite group in the 70's was ABBA! I still love listening to them. And yes, bringing two kids the same age into our marriage was a challenge at times. They would fight just like regular brother and sister. Hugs, Cindy
Music just makes my heart sing and my soul feel alive! Love everything but heavy metal and rap. Thanks for the recommendations.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day!
xoxo
Pat
Oh thanks for the "different" music, that was fun!

ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteDon't worry. There is still a ton of that white stuff up here in Wisconsin. Boy, do I have Spring Fever! I need to look at some flower catalog's too! Hugs, Cindy
Ooooh, thanks for the music tip. I will go check them out for sure. I love finding new music. Music is a very important part of my life as well. Hope your Valentines Day was sweet, sweet, sweet!
ReplyDeleteI will check that out...always on th elook out for good music no matter what type.
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I've been accused of in my music is substituting technical talent for raw emotion.
ReplyDeleteThere are two songs, however, that can easily bring me to tears when I sing them: "Up to the Mountain," a gospel number performed by Kelly Clarkson; and "The Star-Spangled Banner."
Isn't that funny?
