When I Grow Up, I Want To Be...

...A Wedding Food Taster!

You may remember that a few posts back, I mentioned a wedding. Well, while we were in Florida, we made a trip to the venue:

We sat at a beautiful table in a dining room
with no one in it and the food just kept coming.

There were 8 different appetizers...4 were chosen.

Two salad choices...which one
do you think they picked?

Three fabulous entrees...two were selected and yes,
that is lobster in those mashed potatoes.

After months of "healthy eating" I nearly jumped up and down when each of us was presented a platter to sample cake and cupcake flavors along with various frostings. White, chocolate, key lime and lemon along with buttercream and cream cheese frosting and a chocolate ganache. You know sometimes as a parent you just have to make sacrifices for your kids...I would have rather been eating carrots and celery, but I forced myself to try those potatoes, crab cakes, and each and every flavor of cupcake and frosting. This was fun, plain and simple. We were treated so well and it was really easy to make the selections. Everything was really good and some things were just perfect! I think I could make a career of this, don't you?

I am joining Michael @
Rattlebridge Farm for Foodie Friday

Hi suz,
Wow, don't you just love the presentation of the food as well.
so pretty........and I am sure tastes as wonderful as it looks. Yea, I am with you on trying those desserts,
sounds like a wonderful job to me.

That is funny you said when you grow up, cause I say that quite often too,
I am still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
lol

Would love to know what some of those dishes are, and what they have in them. Like the salad,
that one looks like it has bread
and the other maybe a potato??
Am I right on either of those??

Well, nice you had a great time.
Blessings, Nellie

Oh Sue...my DD was married almost 18 yrs. ago & I can STILL remember doing the taste testing for her wedding! No matter what choices were made, I'm sure they will be delicious.

Make sure you've written down every single detail that they have promised you. Just minutes before we were to enter the main room, I peeked & there weren't any votive candles on the tables, even though we'd ordered & paid for them. She was married on Dec. 23rd so there were mini Christmas trees with little white twinkling lights, but there was also supposed to be candles. You should have seen the staff scrambling to get them out & into place before the doors opened.

I can't wait for the wedding!!!
